Thanks Bob, I thoroughly enjoyed your reports on IAS. I was stationed there 69-70. I was on Crete in 2002 but didn't get by the base as I thought it was still open.

Can't believe I missed a golden opportunity to revisit IAS. That place left a very special place in my heart, one that I reminisce about all the time.

I would love to meet other Silent Warriors.

Dear Cary, I'm glad you have enjoyed reading my posts about Iraklion Air Station. We actually had a little reunion here on Crete last year (2010) for anyone who had been stationed at the old base, regardless of when or what career field they was in. We had a great time. We visited some other villages on the island and ate some GREAT Cretan food!

Actually, it's only 1,000 of us, but we've all been back 15 times because your blog is so interesting! Keep up the great work, Bobby.
